Ruben Gonzalez Porcel, PokerStars qualifier, 23, Eibar Guipuzcoa, Basque Country, España – 1,280,000 chips.
Ruben started playing live 3 or 4 years ago. He works in sales. His best result in live events was in a €100 buy-in monthly tournament in San Sebastian which he won for €4,728. He qualified for ESPT Valencia through PokerStars. Ruben prefers live poker to online though and only plays No Limit Hold'em.

Jaume Niell Alomar, 34, Sineu, Mallorca, Spain, 1,015,000 chips.
Jaume has been playing NLHE for the last four years but has been playing 5-card draw for more than 20 years. He is not a professional player and works as a freelancer for a multinational company. His best result in live events was in Barcelona where he won a prize of € 4000. Online, his best result was fifth place in an online series event for $41,000. He enjoys both live and online poker. He is a regular on PokerStars and never misses an opportunity to play one of the Sunday Major tournaments. He is also a regular on the Estrellas Poker Tour.

Miguel Angel Rodriguez Bermudez, Spain, Madrid, 1,044,000 chips.
Miguel Ángel has played poker for 14 years (mainly 5 card draw). He is not a full-time pro and his main job is working as a civil servant in Madrid. His best result in live tournaments was winning the Spanish Poker Tour in Aranjuez in 2009 for €28,600. Online, he finished in a turbo event for nearly €60 000. He came to Valencia with some friends and says he prefers live poker to online. He enjoys all types of poker with Omaha Hi Lo being his favourite.

Frederic Van Der Mersch, 25, Leuwen, Belgium, 518,000 chips.
Frederic first took up poker about three years ago, playing online tournaments before progressing to playing live events. He gave up his job in real estate investment to become a a full time professional player. His best result in a live tournament to date was fourth place in the PokerStars Belgian Poker Series Main Event in Namur in April last year for €44,000. Frederic loves Valencia and come to the city on a regular basis. It’s the second time he has competed at an ESPT event as he also took part in ESPT San Sebastian last year. Online he prefer playing cash game to tournaments.

Mauricio Pazos, 30, Barcelona, PokerStars qualifier – 493,000 chips
This 30-year-old from Barcelona is living in Valencia and studies Technical Architecture while playing poker part time. Pazos prefers playing online, especially in cash games. This is not his first Estrellas event. At the Alicante leg last season, he cashed in 40th place for €1,520 and was also a finalist at ESPT San Sebastian last year for €9,650.

Jarkko Ilari Mammela, 23, Espoo, Finland – 489,000 chips.
Jarkko is participating for the first time at Estrellas Poker Tour event. He lives in Espoo, Finland and plays poker full time. He started playing online five years ago and then took to competing in live event two years ago. His best live result to date was the Unibet Open Ls 1,500 No Limit Hold'em Main Event in Riga last year where he finished fourth for Ls 21,506 (30775 Euro). Online he only plays PLO and NLHE cash games because, he says, “I like to play on several tables and the game is faster”. Jarkko is a big fan of his home country ice hockey team.

Wim Eduard Neys, 24, Antwerpen, Belgium, 425,000 chips.
Wim has been playing poker online for six years and only started playing live tournaments four years ago. He used to work in a bar but now dedicates himself to playing poker full time. His best achievement online is 21000$ in a 55$ freezout on PokerStars. Wim came to Valencia with his good friend Team PokerStars Pro Christophe De Meulder. He likes to play both online and live. In live tournament he likes “to build a chip tower” and online he really enjoys playing multitables. When he is not playing poker, Win likes to go snowboarding.

Isaac Chapi Tolosa, 33, Valencia, Spain, 300,000 chips.
Local hero Isaac Chapi began playing poker three years ago online. He is not a fulltime pro, his main job is in sales. His best result in a live tournament was fourth place in a monthly tournament in Valencia (€ 3,500). Online, he prefers to play cash games rather than tournaments. Isaac is married and actually lives in Valencia. This is his first Estrellas Poker Tour event.
