Season 5 of the Estrellas Poker Tour will be remembered for many things - from Victor Antoranz's stunning victory in Madrid, to Fabio Sperling and Rodrigo Espinosa's successes in Valencia and Marbella respectively. But above all else, Season 5 will always be renowned for a record-breaking event in Barcelona, where 2,560 players took part, generating a €2,483,200 prize pool - the biggest in ESPT history.
The first event of Season 4 took place in the nation's capital Madrid, before the tour moved on to some of the country's greatest poker destinations. Each stop on the tour was chosen for its cultural interest as well as for its location at one of many poker hubs in Spain. Thousands of players took part, with Adrian Mateos, Daniel Boender, Ludovic Geilich and Soenke Jahn each taking down titles. In total, more than €3,500,000 were awarded, with Jahn earning the biggest prize of €169,136 in Barcelona.
The third season concluded with a stunning final event in Barcelona. The ESPT3 schedule took in some of the region's most prestigious poker destinations, and the tournaments again attracted the huge player fields. The finale In Barcelona broke all kinds of records with a player field of 1,037 and a total prize pool of €1,004,940. The big winner was Lorenzo Sabato from Italy, who took home the title, trophy, and €200,000 in first place prize money!
